We visited Tokugawa art-museum last weekend to see Genji Monogatari drawings that were drawn in Heian-period(about 900 years ago).
Heian-period is called so artistic period and many prominent arts were produced.
Genji Monogatari is the complecated love story written by Murasaki-Shikibu, one of the most famous female author in Japan.
Don't you think it's so amazing that such an old drawings are exisiting and so well-preserved?
The drawing were how to say... vivid, passional and alive...it's like ladies in drawings are chatting, laughing and moving. Hikaru-Genji has elegance but looks sad.
If you have a chance to go to Nagoya, we recommend you to visit Tokugawa art museum.
Genji Monogatari Emaki will be exhibited till Dec 6th(Sun).
